Volleyball Match

Volleyball Match

A typical field volleyball match is played between two teams of 6 players on each side. The match consists of 5 sets. The first four sets are played for 25 points and the last set is played for 15 points. A team wins a set if they score 25 (or 15 points in the last set) points with a difference of 2 points. The side to win the maximum number of sets wins the match.
In PLAYINGA, we have kept very minimal restrictions. For a team sport, such as volleyball, there is a minimum requirement of 2 players per team and no set or point restrictions.
Step 1: Click the Scorecard sub-tab on the match page. Once in the “Match scorecard” page, click on Enter Score button that appears at the bottom
Step 2: On clicking Enter Score, a pop-up appears that let’s select the players, who participated in the match. Click on the Add button next to each player to add the player.  Once each player has been added, you can choose the role the player played in the match from the role options in the drop-down box.
Step 3: Once the roles have been finalized, click on the Next button to proceed to the Substitutions Section.
Step 4: The Substitutions section is to be filled when one of the chosen players is substituted with another player during the course of the match. Enter the substitution details and click on Save & Continue. If there has been no substitution, you can choose to skip the section by clicking on the Skip button.
Step 5: The next step involves recording the same details for the Opponent team. Select the players who participated in the match from the opponent team. Click on the Add button. Once each player has been added, you can choose the role the player played in the match from the drop-down options.
Step 6: Once the roles have been finalized, click on Continue to proceed to the Substitutions section.
Step 7: The Substitutions section is to be filled when one of the chosen players is substituted with another player during the course of the match. Enter the substitution details and click on Save & Continue. If there has been no substitution, you can choose to skip the section by clicking on the Skip button.
Step 8: Once the player details have been recorded, the next step would be to proceed to score the match.
Step 9: To change the player line up, click on Edit Players. This will take you back to the initial player selection screen.
Note: Once you make changes in the lineup, it will overwrite the original player selection.
Step 10: To enter the score for each team, click on the Update Score button.
Step 11: Choose the number of sets played in the match under the Format section. Enter the set results and click on Save as Draft button.
Step 12: To publish the score that has been saved, it must be approved by the opponent side This ensures that both sides are in agreement before the scorecard is officially published on PLAYINGA. Click on Send for Opponent’s Approval button that appears below, to send the scorecard to the opposite side for approval. For a team sport like Volley Ball, the Admin/Captain of the opponent team is notified.
Step 13: The opponent team captain/admin shall receive a notification, that the scorecard has been sent for review.
Step 14: If you are on the opponent side, click on Review Scorecard to visit the scorecard page. As an opponent, you can choose to Accept or Reject the scorecard. To accept the scores, click on Accept & Publish.
If you click the Accept & Publish button, the scores get published and the message “Match scorecard published successfully” appears at the top of the screen.
Note: Once the scores have been accepted and published, they become visible in the feeds section of the participant players’ profiles and as feeds for the friends of them.
Step 15: As an opponent, if you want to reject the scorecard then click on Reject. You will see a pop-up requesting you to enter the reason. Enter the reason for rejecting the scores and click on Confirm.
Step 16: If the opponent has rejected the scorecard, the match administrator shall receive a notification from the opponent with the reason for rejection and the match results will be sent to the match admin for a repeat verification. The match admin should revisit the match scorecard page, may choose to modify the score or retain it and send it again to the opponent for approval by clicking on Send for Opponent’s Approval button.
If you are the captain/admin of the opponent team, click on Review Scorecard to visit the scorecard page. In order to approve the result, click the Accept & Publish button. This will publish the scores of the match and the message “Match scorecard successfully published” appears at the top of the screen.
