Hockey Match Scoring – How to Enter and Publish Hockey Scores on Playinga
Hockey Match
A typical field hockey Match consists of two halves of 35 minutes each. Each team has 11 players including a goal keeper. The objective of the match is to score more goals than the opposition side. The team with the maximum number of goals is declared the winner of the match.
With PLAYINGA, the restrictions are very minimal. For a team sport, such as hockey, there is just a minimum requirement of 2 players per team.

To score a Hockey Match, the steps are below:
Step 1: Go to the match page on your profile.
Step 2: Click on specific hockey match to enter score.
Step 3: You will be taken to the match page. Click on the Scorecard sub tab.
Step 4:Click the 'Enter Score' button and choose a scoring format.
Step 5: Select How You Want to Enter Scores
Live Scoring Format
If you choose the live scoring format, select the team that will kick off. Then, set the number of periods, the duration of each period, and the break time between them. You can also enable ball possession tracking to monitor which team controls the ball during the match.
Once all settings are configured, click the ‘Start Match’ button to begin live scoring.
A pop-up will appear where you can select the players participating in the match. Click on each player’s image to add them, and assign their roles using the dropdown menu. You can also choose a Captain, Vice captain and Goalie from the selected players. Repeat the same process for the opponent team.
Once all players are added, click the ‘Save & Next’ button to continue.
Here, you can record goals, substitutions, and events for each team using the respective buttons.
Recording Match Actions (Goals, Events & Substitutions)
Goal
To record a goal for a team, click the ‘Goal’ button on that side. Enter the required goal details such as the scoring player, the assisting player , and the goal type.
Events
To add an event, click the ‘Events’ button and enter details such as the event type, player’s name and comments. You can add multiple events for both teams.
Substitutions
The Substitutions section allows you to replace a player during the match. Select the player being substituted, choose the substitute player, and pick a reason for the substitution. After entering the details, click Save.
Once the match is completed, click publish to update the final results.
Detailed Scoring Format
If you choose the detailed scoring format, first select the players from both teams who participated in the match with roles. You can also choose a Captain, Vice captain and Goalie from the selected players.
Once the player details are added, you can begin scoring the match. The scoring screen includes sections for Line-up, Substitutes, Goals, Events, and Most Valuable Player.
If you need to change the player line-up at any time, click the Edit Players button.
To record match actions, use the buttons provided on each team’s side. You can add goals, substitutions, and different match events as they happen.
You can select one Most Valuable Player for the entire match. Click the Most Valuable Player button, then choose a player from the team you want to select. A Penalty Shootout option is also available—click the Penalty Shootout button if you need to record shootout results.
After entering the scores, click the Save score button. Once the score is saved, click the Publish button to publish the match results.
Basic Scoring Format
If you choose the basic scoring format, simply enter the goals for each team and click the Save Score button.
Step 6: After saving in any format, you will see the 'Edit Score' option and the 'Publish' button at the bottom. To edit the score, click 'Edit Score', make your changes, and click 'Save Score'. To publish the results, click 'Publish'.
Step 7: After clicking Publish button, A confirmation pop-up will appear — click 'Confirm' to publish the results.
Once the scores have been published, they become visible in your feeds section, your opponent’s feed and in the feeds of both your friends.
